How to File a Claim
- Notify Your Broker: Contact ZIB within 24hrs after the loss occurs.
- Provide Necessary Information: Be prepared to provide detailed information about the incident, including date, time, location, and any witnesses.
- File a Claim Form: Complete the required claim form and submit it to your broker.
- Cooperate with the Claims Adjuster/Assessor: Work closely with the claims adjuster/assessor to provide any additional information or documentation requested.
What to Expect
- Prompt Response: Our claims team will acknowledge your claim promptly, send to the insurer and ensure an adjuster/assessor is appointed..
- Thorough Investigation: The adjuster/assessor will conduct a thorough investigation to gather all necessary information.
- Fair Assessment: Your claim will be evaluated based on the terms and conditions of your insurance policy.
- Transparent Communication: We will keep you informed throughout the claims process and provide regular updates on the status of your claim.
- Efficient Settlement: If your claim is approved, we will ensure your claim is settled inline with IPEC claims settlement timelines.
CLAIMS CONSIDERATION
In the event of an incident likely to result in a claim
Please provide the following
- Do not under any circumstances admit liability either verbally or in writing or by paying an admission of guilt fine unless charged by the law, your insurers need the opportunity to defend you.
- It is essential that all claims or possible claims be advised to your broker immediately by text, WhatsApp, email and direct calls.
What to expect upon submission of claim?
- Your insurers have the right to assess a loss.
- Your insurers have the option to repair, replace, reinstate or pay cash.
- Do not dispose of damaged property and/or salvage until authorised to do so.
- Do not repair or replace lost or damaged property without obtaining authority from your broker.
Motor Accident involving another Party
- The name of the Third Party, as well as the contact address.
- The registration number of the Third Party’s vehicle.
- The name of the Third Party’s Insurance company and the policy number if possible.
- The name/number of the Police Officer in attendance and the accident report number
- Names and addresses of any witness.
- A photograph of the scene of accident including the damaged vehicles where possible.
